Internet Explorer crashes problems - how to fix it?

When the Internet Explorer crashes, stops working, or closes suddenly after being opened, you might get an error message telling you that Internet Explorer isn’t working, or that it encountered a problem and needs to close. But this can greatly affect your online activity if it keeps popping up while you are doing something important on the PC and cannot be cancelled. Here are some few things that you can try if Internet Explorer has stopped responding on your machine.

Internet Explorer has stopped working

If your Internet Explorer suddenly stops responding, try reloading it again to see whether it works. If not, check and make sure you are enjoying the latest Internet Explorer version. To check for an update, follow me to go now:

*Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Also, you can point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.
*Enter Update in the search box, and then tap or click Check for updates.
*Check, download and install any updates from Windows Update.

If you have already run the latest version, but a message saying Internet Explorer has stopped responding still appears, check the add-ons that you have ever added to your Internet Explorer. Some incompatible ones will not work properly with the IE and make the Internet Explorer stop working unexpectedly when you are trying to open it.

By the way, you can try resetting the Internet Explorer settings to fix this error, but this will undo some of the changes that you have made.

Thirdly, your Internet Explorer might stop responding if viruses attack your system. The viruses can corrupt or damage some system required files like MSASCui.exe or directly hijack your Internet Explorer. So you should install a most effective anti-virus tool on your computer and detect & remove all these threats now. By the way, it is highly recommend that you should let the antivirus program running in the background to block viruses at any time.

Finally, you’d better spend several minutes checking and repairing Windows registry errors. Just with the daily usage and constant program install & uninstall, the Windows registry will get larger and larger as time goes. The more bloated the Windows registry becomes, the more unstable your computer will be. This way, registry errors have been the main cause of many computer problems. If the system cannot recall the required entries to connect to the web or load your Internet Explorer correctly, an error stating Internet Explorer has stopped responding will be shown immediately. If none of the above steps work in solving the Internet Explorer error, it is highly recommended that you should download and run a registry repair tool to completely scan & fix all errors inside the Windows registry database

Then, you can run your Internet Explorer properly right now without the frequent appearance of message saying Internet Explorer has stopped responding. In my opinion, to get the computer and all the added programs running correctly all the time, you’d better check and maintain PC performance regularly.
